Who We Are

Hailing from across South Wales, Convoy is a Post-Hardcore/Metalcore Collective that has surfaced very recently. Our sound is a calculated collision; it’s a soundscape that moves from ethereal choral sections to the visceral shock of cut-throat guitars and synth-trap verses, reflecting the fractured reality of modern times. Built over a year in secret, the project is launching throughout 2026.

Cal (Callum Walton)

Lead Vocalist

A software engineer by day and vocalist by night, Callum's approach to Convoy is as technical as his career. After his last band split, he called Rafael from a recording studio with a plan to turn their ideas into something real. Alongside Rafael and Sam, he spent half a year hidden away in a studio developing the sound and identity that would eventually found Convoy. On stage, he covers the full vocal spectrum of modern metalcore, shifting between cut-throat screams and melodic cleans. Beyond the microphone, Callum handles the band's stage tech and lighting design, while also managing the social media and accounts.

Rafael (Rafael Gomes)

Lead Guitar

Rafael is the lead guitarist and producer for Convoy, overseeing the music from the initial writing stages through to the final mix. He was a central part of the six-month studio development that founded the band, where he began crafting the extremely detailed tones and technical layers that define their sound. His songwriting draws from a diverse palette, blending influences from neo-soul, R&B, and indie pop with the aggression of metalcore and post-hardcore. On stage, that technicality translates into cut-throat riffs and heavy breakdowns. When he isn't in the studio or looking at Japanese cars with Cal, Rafael is behind the desk ensuring every track is polished from the first riff to the final release.

Josh (Josh Bailey)

Drums

The newest member of the lineup, Josh steps in as Convoy's drummer and immediately hits the ground running. He rapidly learned the set and developed a unique style for the tracks just in time for the band's appearance at Metal 2 The Masses. A skater at heart, Josh brings that same energy to the rhythm section, providing the live foundation for the band's riffs and breakdowns. Since joining, he has become a permanent fixture in the group's identity. He's often the highest-energy person in the room—you can catch Josh at a show jumping straight off the drums to two-step in the moshpit alongside Rafael and Cal.
